About me

My professional journey began in Palmyra, Syria, where I developed a fascination with the interplay between economic conditions and political changes. This interest led to a PhD from the University of St Andrews in 2017.

Over the past decade, I have held research and teaching positions at various international and UK universities, focusing on Middle Eastern politics, development, and international relations. My expertise has been applied in consultative roles for governmental and non-governmental organizations, enhancing my skills in project management, strategic planning, and data analysis.

I have presented my research at international conferences and prestigious institutions like the LSE, University of Oxford, and Uppsala University, improving my ability to communicate complex ideas. I authored State and Tribes in Syria: Informal Alliances and Conflict Patterns (Routledge, 2019) and co-edited Spoils of War in the Arab East: Reconditioning Society and Polity in Conflict (Bloomsbury, 2024).

My cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills are valuable in global business contexts, where cultural understanding is crucial. I excel in synthesizing data into actionable strategies and am committed to advancing knowledge and understanding of Middle Eastern politics. I am keen to explore collaborative opportunities that leverage my background to drive impactful research and strategic initiatives. Let's connect to discuss how we can work together to achieve shared goals.
